Two or three employees are more than enough to run a successful business with our 8 bed package. You will need three to four employees to operate the 12 bed salon, and five to six employees to operate the 16 bed salon.
Feel free to adjust hours as you see fit. The typical tanning store is open M-F 8am-10pm, Sat 8am-9pm, Sun 11am-6pm. Many stores are closed on Sunday. We recommend being open to gain all of this business that’s being turned away.
The ideal store for an 8 bed salon would be approximately 1200-1600 sq ft, for a 12 bed salon you would need approximately 1600-2000 sq. ft, and for a 16 bed salon you will need approximately 2000-2400 sq ft. It has been our experience that you will need to have approximately $25k in operating expenses for an 8 bed salon, $25k-$50k for a 12 bed salon, and $50k-$75k for a 16 bed salon. Though, you will make money from day one it takes approximately 90-120 days to build your client base, so you will need these funds to operate the business
No, unlike the competition we charge no royalties or percentages of sales or commissions. Again, some of our competitors charge as much as 12%.
Yes, Tanning Trendz will help you secure your own accounts with the vendors.
It takes only a few weeks to build out your store, but with the time to set-up the relationship with your vendors, systems, training, and municipalities you can expect approximately six weeks from the time you sign a lease. You most likely won’t have to pay rent until you open.
You can be an absentee owner if you wish. We recommend an active owner. As with any business the presence of the owner is a key ingredient to being successful. If you’re not going to be present on a regular basis, we highly recommend a key manager be hired and trained.
It’s possible that you could save a little money doing it yourself in the beginning, but you will spend far more going out of business. We are experts in the industry. We have a system that works. Tanning Trendz eliminates or at least minimizes the headaches of starting a new business.
You have the option to sell many other products through our vendors. Also, feel free to add whatever you’d like. We recommend that you sell all products related to the tanning industry. Some clients implement other services as well, such as teeth whitening.
No, Tanning Trendz is a business opportunity. We are set up as business developers and consultants focused on the tanning industry. You pay no royalty fees to our company.

Yes we will provide complete training on operations and product knowledge. You will also receive training from vendors and online tutorials.
Tanning Trendz will find your location for you, unless you have already located one. We do complete market research once you have signed a contract with our company. This research takes into consideration traffic counts, competition, demographics, analyzing curb appeal, ingress, egress, linear sq. footage, visibility, anchors and more. This is what we do best and a key to your success!
We give you all the tools necessary to be a successful business owner in the tanning industry. After we put everything in place for you it will be very easy to run your business. By the time your intense training program is complete you will have more knowledge than most of your competitors. We have trained hundreds of employees who started new just like you.
We do not provide direct financing at this time. Each owner is responsible for obtaining their own financing. However, we can put you in contact with many lenders that will help you through the process of obtaining financial assistance.
